Escape From Limbo - Grasshopper

I think we’ve all been in that mythical land of limbo a time or two. Some say it’s “between a rock and a hard place.” So how do we escape?

The answer that never works is waiting for someone to save us. But that’s what most of us do, at least until we realize no one’s coming.

The workable answer I come up with is: Make a plan!

Plan something, anything. Lay it out step-by-step and then step towards it. That means to take some action on the steps each and every day. They don’t have to be leaps, even baby steps work. But work at it we must.

Action diffuses angst and puts hopelessness on the back burner.

Plant a seed. One seed grows an entire tomato plant.  A seed a day keeps idleness at bay.

As the nuns used to tell us, “idleness is the devil’s work.” It’s the state of mind that keeps us in limbo.

Doing nothing reaps nothing. Doing something moves us in a direction.

Your plan may not be perfect, but it doesn’t have to be. All it has to do is get you to see it’s being a busy bee that will set you free.

Sound like a plan?

All the best,

John
