How Useful Is Guilt? - Grasshopper
The answer is VERY, if . . .
Guilt is only useful if it spurs you to atone or take remedial action rather than just making you feel bad about feeling guilty.
Guilt by itself is a self-destructive emotion. If you use guilt as a tool to move forward, then it’s just the catalyst the doctor ordered.
Sitting around feeling guilty accomplishes nothing. Taking that feeling and putting it to constructive use is what I truly believe guilt was intended to do.
Feeling guilty? Let it spur you to take some action that will absolve you of your guilt.
All the best,
John
