Life’s Second Lease is Peace - Grasshopper
Looking for a new lease on life? Most peoples’ experience of a new lease is a change of scenery where they wind up living out their old reality.
I’m sure the sunsets are breathtaking on Maui; I plan on seeing and photographing them one day. What I know for sure is this: No matter what the new circumstances, our old life trails us like a shadow, until we find peace.
There is no substitute for personal peace. Most peoples’ quest is for a piece of the rock which will weigh you down in your search for peace.
Peace is right where you are. It’s always there. No bags to pack, no planes to catch, just stopping to notice its presence beneath any predicament.
Yes, many of us benefit by moving on to new locales and making new pals, but that alone will keep you wanting. Without the foundation of peace, life will be a series of stumbles on the road to a second lease on life.
“Pursue Peace” is more than a bumper sticker; It’s the directive that will get you a genuine new lease.
When you find your mind turbulent with thoughts, ask yourself this: “Where is my peace?” Just the asking of the question interrupts the thought process long enough for peace to come through. Make it a practice to interrupt your thoughts whenever you notice they aren’t taking you in the direction of peace.
Two things are certain:
1. Peace is ever present.
2. You can find it by interrupting your thoughts.
Before you set out on the road looking for a new lease, make sure you have packed the one personal item you’ll need on your trip - Peace.
All the best,
John
