Truth Doesn’t Bend - Grasshopper
The new global pastime is bending the facts to fit your truth. It's evident in politics, religion and other topics you don't talk about in mixed company.
I have to be honest with you. I haven't a clue what truth is but I'm certain it doesn't bend, and if it does bend, it doesn't break.
The closest I've come to defining truth is that it's reality. Reality is what's happening now, and what's happening now is a fact. How we interpret what's going on now is utter fantasy.
We have a way of hiding behind manufactured truth. Our truth, by and large, is the "Big Lie." If you tell it often enough, you begin to believe it.
Facts can certainly be presented, but it takes 12 morons to interpret them. Just look back at the O.J. Simpson murder trial.
"Spin" (the modern day bending of the facts) is a Ferris wheel on steroids and the results are sickening.
"Yes" or "No" has been relegated to the garbage heap and replaced by "cover your ass" contrivance.
This is more than a rant. This is a plea not to be afraid to just be.
To "just be" is to let the spin machine in your head calm down so the real you has an opportunity to emerge.
The authentic you does not need to be explained. It's truth. Not your truth, but the truth that everyone has access to when they stop pretending to be anyone other than who's there when the spin goes away.
Life, reality and truth are going on at all times. They are pouring in 24-7. Trying to bend all of that to fit our façade is nerve racking and overwhelming. Spin becomes a full time job where the work never gets done.
It's kinda' like your mother told you, "Tell the truth and you won't have to keep track of your lies."
When you die, your façade falls away, but the truth you've bent is left behind to become someone else's spin.
Make an effort not to pass it on.
Begin to get curious about how soon you can get out of the spin cycle before you become a dehydrated version of the real you.
All the best,
John
