Life Will Go On Without You - Grasshopper
My sincerest apologies to anyone counting on reincarnation . . . but I have a gut feeling this is our one go-round.
And oddly enough, I don't find that thought depressing. I find it liberating.
Because while the life force that infuses you may continue on in ways we can't fully understand, you won't be here forever.
One day, you and me will be a memory.
And that's not a dark thought. It's an engraved invitation to make some memories while you're here.
To actually live your life while you're present for it.
Because if you spend most of your time living inside your head . . . replaying the past, worrying about the future, arguing with reality . . . you're missing the only place life is actually happening.
Right here.
Right now.
There's a strange thing many of us do. We wait for life to happen.
We wait for the right time. The right circumstances. The right person. The right feeling.
But waiting for life to happen is . . . well, just waiting.
Meanwhile, life is already happening.
It's in the conversation you're having. The person sitting across from you. The breeze coming through the window. The coffee you're drinking. The sound of somebody laughing in the next room.
Life doesn't have to arrive.
It's already here.
So maybe the invitation is simply to dance with and appreciate what's here now.
Because eventually, the music will stop. And this vehicle we happen to be traveling around in will no longer hear, or see, or touch, or taste, or feel any of it.
Life will go on without you.
But for now . . . you're here.
And that's a pretty remarkable invitation all by itself.
So don't wait for that which may never come.
Live the life that's here today . . . and keep waiting on the run.
All the best,
